Day Five

At the beginning of Day Five, the Day of Grace, the long-awaited Savior made His appearance in the world in a way no one expected.  Born among the lambs on the road between Jerusalem and Bethlehem, Jesus, the Son of God, was born to earthly parents as a Baby.  No fanfare accompanied His arrival in the way royal births are normally heralded – only the shepherds in the fields heard the joyous announcement of the angels.  Yet He was born to be King of Kings, and His birth suspended the plan of time as the Kingdom of God made a brief appearance on Earth, pushing back the start of Day Five for the  33 ½ years of His life as a human.

You might find what follows a bit surprising.  So much of what we think we know is so much better than we even thought.  For instance, very few people understand the real reason Jesus made His appearance in a manger, or why Herod and all of Jerusalem were frightened by the appearance of the Magi.  If you have read the story up to this point, this will all make sense as we look at the culmination of all the signs and types of the Old Testament in the person of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
